Kaya Golf Course

The Kaya Golf Club course was designed by Irish golf course designer and Master PGA Professional, David Jones.

He said, ' Kaya Golf Club was a very interesting project for me. I often see golfers frustrated by monster courses of 6500 meters or more in length. At Kaya I had a compact site to work with and decided to aim for a shorter layout which would be enjoyable for all golfers, including those who do not hit the ball vast distances. I think I have achieved that. Kaya is challenging and has quite a few dramatic holes where the player must choose between risk and reward. But we also have many shorter par threes and fours where the interest is provided by strategic bunkers and subtle green contours. A course for everyone, I would say'.

Kaya Golf Course Scorecard.
Hole White Par Hole White Par
1Hole 1 : A Gentle opening hole, where a reasonable drive from the tees surrounded by big pines, should be followed by a short iron approach, but choose your club carefully as the lake at the back of the green will catch you if you are too strong. 315 4 10Hole 10 : A short and reasonably easy par five. Not too long but slightly uphill, and with forest on both left and right side of the fairway, straight shots will be needed to gain par. 468 5
2Hole 2 : Not long but very demanding par 3. Steep slopes all around the green, trees to the right and the lake in front will punish all but the most accurate of shots. 175 3 11Hole 11 : A short and tricky, sharp right-to-left dog-leg. A fairway wood or iron tee shot is probably a good idea here to set up a short approach shot to a green surrounded by trees. 315 4
3Hole 3 : With water all the way along the right side, you will need to drive carefully across the stream to the widest part of the dog-leg. From there, a medium iron approach should get you home to this elevated gren. 380 4 12Hole 12 : The toughest par four on the second nine. A tight drive, which should be kept as close as possible to the left side, will leave you a long approach shot to an elevated green set in the forest. The main channel trough the course is waiting for you just in front of this green, so don't be short. 374 4
4Hole 4 : The first of the par fives. A long straight hole, which is what your shots will need to be conquer this hole. 485 5 13Hole 13 : The easiest hole on the course, played from a lovely tee position inside the forest. A nice relaxing hole, so take advantage of it... you may need it. 140 3
5Hole 5 : A medium length par three hole with a strategically placed bunker at the front and a very unduating green to test your putting. 185 3 14Hole 14 : Most difficult par five. A double dog-leg, which first of all requirest an accurate tee shot through the trees to the first turning point on the fairway. For really long hitters the green might now be within reach. The big stream runs across the approach, so you can choose between caution and courage. A sensible second shot just to the right of the fairway will leave you a short iron approach to this lovely green setting. 488 5
6Hole 6 : An easy enough drive, but a demanding second shot across the corner of the lake to the green, where water also waits for you if you hit your ball over the back.. 360 4 15Hole 15 : A medium length par three from a tee comlex set around some superb ancient pine trees. Probably only a medium iron but some interesting putts on this green. 150 3
7Hole 7 : The simplest of the par three holes on the first nine. A straightforward medium iron shot to an open green. This hole will give you a little rest before the... 110 3 16Hole 16 : Do you go over or round the magnificent guardian pine in the centre of this fairway? Once you have managed to avoid it, you will rewarded with a simple an easy shot to a gently sloping green. 315 4
8Hole 8 : Probably the toughest hole on the course. A very demanding par four with water on both sides of the fairway. A long and straight drive is needed, followed by approach shot across the deep channel up to an elevated green surrounded by tall pines. 360 4 17Hole 17 : A short and simple par four. No real problems here but a large and interesting putting surface might offer some problems if you leave your approach shot too far from the pin. 325 4
9Hole 9 : A tough par five, where your drive has to be accurately placed between two lakes before turning the corner to the right around the big pine tree. Another lake lies in wait to the left of the green. 505 5 18Hole 18 : The second shot here is the key to success, so try to position your drive in the perfect spot, just to the left side of the fairway. After that you will only have a short iron approach, but don't go to the right or the lake will swallow your ball. 350 4
